I ordered this reed for delivery and received a package with no kind of protective bubble wrap or anything similar. Because of this, the reeds were chipped when I got them. I'm positive this was during the shipping process. Reed still works, but definitely not the best reed I've had.

My granddaughter loves these reeds. It is her top choice.

I would not recommend this reed because I used it or only one week and it broke. It was okay at first but one day it suddenly cracked open without anything touching it. Then when I took out a new reed that was identical to this one, it did not work. I picked this reed because of its high ratings, but it performed very poorly for some reason.

When my 11 year old started her first instrument, she chose the challenging oboe. I was excited to support her but had no idea about reeds - the frequency of a beginner burning through them nor the price! My local Music Arts store staff were the only music pros who took the time to explain reeds to me and helped my daughter find the "right" ones that she was comfortable with. They were able to special order them for us at a moments notice and were always encouraging of her efforts and looked out for her best performance options that fit with our budget. Staff is very knowledgeable, professional and excited to see all customers when they come into the store. Pricing is the best around, customer service is perfect - this reed is a great beginners reed especially for the price...she loves them!

I was really impressed with the Fox reeds. I received one free when I purchased a Fox oboe (which also plays exceptionally, but that is another rating) and always kept it as a back up reed becasue at the time I had a few other reed that were already broken in. True, this reed is a little tempermental at first and almost resist being broken in. It took maybe a week to break in, but it plays smoothly, in tune, and has required no adjustments even though I have had it for a long time. I highly recomend these to intermediate to a little more advanced students.

This reed is exceptional it has a great tone quality with a centered pitch. I have had my Fox reed for about one month without any cracks or breaks. This is truly the best oboe reed I have played on. I have had to make very few adjustments to this reed. It has a soft cork which is great if you just never seem to have enought cork grease like me. This reed has given my oboe a great sound I would recomend this reed to players of all experiences.

These reeds are the only kind I will use. I have tried many others and no reed has the performance of this brand. Thay are durable and have a great tone quality. I am very pleased by this brand.
