Made from the finest French cane.
Rigotti Queen Reeds for tenor saxophone represent the finest in precision and playability. Hand picked and precisely cut, these reeds are consistent, focused and durable. Box of 10. Available in strengths 1.5 through 5.

The Best Cane
Rigotti owes part of their reputation to their materials. The canes of the Var, and Cogolin regions of France are among the best in the world. Grown alongside rivers and streams in an large area that is maintained all year round.

Cutting
Rigotti Gold reeds are cut during a winter afternoon over four months from December to March. When the cane has reached maturity (after two years when it measures seven to eight meters with a diameter of 26cm to 32cm), it is cut left in the open for curing. The work on the reeds is split into stages: Rigotti disposes of all the excess and 'feathers', keeping only the 2 or 3 meters from the base (the rest is either burned or used as bamboo). Then the tubes are cut (from the base to the to, after which, each tube is calibrated to a particular instrument.

Really underrated

Nice but not necessary

Decided to try Fibercell reeds again after some 20 years. Found them to be interesting with sustained durability yet while the produced a consistent tonal quality, the response was lacking. In other words, no soulfulness.

I recently switched from Rigotti Jazz Gold to Regal Queen reeds, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. Every reed I've tried straight out of the box has been consistently excellent. I play on a Jody Jazz mouthpiece, alternating between metal and rubber 7*, and the Regal Queen reeds complement both perfectly. The ease of play is remarkable – it requires minimal effort to produce sound, making my practice sessions more enjoyable. The tone quality these reeds offer strikes the perfect balance between bright and dark, giving my performances the versatility I've been looking for. Highly recommend to any saxophonist in search of that ideal reed!

Nobody I know had tried these before, and it seems like Rigotti treats them as second-line next to the Gold Jazz, but I wanted to try out some new reeds and I found these on sale, so I gave it a shot. Turns out, they're as good as anything! The first time I tried one was on my Link STM and my jaw almost hit the floor. It was already a great piece and one of my favorites of the various Links I've tried, but with a Queen it just lit up and sang! I've also found that classical pieces often take Queens very well. Your experience will of course be different based on your embouchure and your mouthpiece, but these are definitely worth a try. I find these run slightly harder than Vandoren's 'jazz' reeds but similar, so if you play one of those then try the same nominal strength. If you play a 'classical' reed, maybe try a half-denomination harder. Consistency is about on par with Vandoren.

Love Rigotti reeds, but bought this type of Rigotti on a whim and boy was I surprised! After a little breaking in and soaking, the quality is amazing! Paired with a Theo Wanne Amma II metal M/P and a Selmer tenor, these reeds are incredibly accommodating! Pianissimo with ease; double forte IN TUNE with ease; altissimo almost effortless! The consistency across all registers and among all the reeds (I tried the complete pack) out performs any other manufacturer I have used in 30 years! Been using Riggoti Gold up till now, but not anymore! These Rigottis are definitely THE standard for my smooth jazz from now on!

Three out of five Queen reeds seem to be less of a problem to break in than some other reeds. Many last longer that others.

I play music on a cruise ship, and the saxophonist in the band needed some reeds. We call him Ukrainian Kevin. Ukrainian Kevin wanted me to order him these reeds to the ship. They arrived in a timely fashion. So far Ukrainian Kevin is satisfied with this purchase. Sadly I cannot use them to further funkify my filthy grooves, but Ukrainian Kevin can soulfully improvise sultry tones over Saving all my Love and Recordame. Thank Wwbw!

I use these reeds for Jazz Combo, Big Band and teaching. These reeds are harder than the Gold's. So A Queens 2.5 is at least a 2.75 - 3.0 Gold. But forget about the strength comparison. It's about the Sound, the feel, the intensity. These reeds feel to me like an old Brown Box Rico Reed or an old Green & black 12 pack when LaVoz was it's own company, Pre-D'Addario/Rico owned. These reeds come as a 10 pack in a fold over card. No hype, just great playing reeds.

These reeds are by far the most consistent I've found, I was skeptical with brand, no more. After trying all brands these are the ones which work best for, Jazz or classical
