Manhasset has been making high-quality, durable music stands for over 80 years, first in Manhasset, NY and then in Yakima, Washington in1940 where they still produce the stands. Founder, inventor and musician, Otto Lagervall envisioned a far better music stand and his improvements were quite popular with musicians and bandleaders.
Manhasset believes in quality, using solid brass bearings and clutches and Manhasset innovations like the original Magic Finger Clutch and the automatic friction-tilt neck to create the perfect stand. A heavy-gauge steel base keeps the stand perfectly still during a performance, but the durable and lightweight desk makes it lighter to carry. Manhasset continues to improve the music stand and provide innovative accessories to make performing more convenient. Add a lamp or a shelf, some floor protectors or an extra-tall stand. Add a holder for violin and bow or a peg to hold a clarinet. There’s even a legless version that clamps onto a drum. The tote is a great way to carry the folded stand.
